ArchEx 2024: Call for Presentations

Architecture Exchange East is the annual thought-leadership conference and expo curated by AIA Virginia. It will be held Nov. 6-8, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia! Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds and most engaging speakers to present talks that are future-focused on a wide range of subjects, to provoke important conversations among design professionals, and to promote networking, relationship building, and collaboration.

Celebrating its 37th year, ArchEx has always strived to help push the profession forward. We are looking for exciting and engaging topics and speakers to make this year unforgettable.

We value sessions that encourage conversation, connections, and collaborative learning. Think workshops, roundtables, tours, and interactive panels. Many of our session slots will be 60 minutes, but we’ll also reserve longer time slots for more in-depth explorations. 

To propose an offering, complete and submit the Presentation Proposal Form by April 30, 2024. Your proposal will be reviewed, and you will be contacted no later than July 2024. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

Requirements

  • Submit a completed proposal form online
  • Proposals must be received by the deadline date.
  • Expert speakers with public speaking experience are preferred
  • Presentation content must be sufficient for the proposed length of the session

Deadline is 5:00 p.m., April 30, 2024

Decision Process

All proposals are evaluated by AIA Virginia’s Education Advisory Council to ensure they address the educational needs of the audience and that the program is well-balanced. The submission review process will begin in June and will continue until the entire program is set.

ArchEx Call For Presentations

Architecture Exchange East is the annual thought-leadership conference and expo curated by AIA Virginia. It will be held Nov. 2–4, 2016, in Richmond, Virginia, with an audience of several thousand architects and allied professionals over the course of the three-day event. Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds and most engaging speakers to present talks that are future-focused on a wide range of subjects ― and to provoke important conversations among design professionals.

Though Architecture Exchange East has a 29-year history, we are looking forward to building on the energy of last year’s conference with a renewed and vigorous focus on curating exceptional, inspirational content. We hope you will consider being an integral part of this gathering of creative professionals.

Your talk could range from a one-hour session to a full-day workshop. We don’t want to box you into a particular format. We’re encouraging creative approaches to content delivery, including panel discussions, tours, and guided collaborative conversations. We welcome all proposals.

Propose an offering you think is relevant and timely, or pick something from the Suggested Topics list below. To propose an offering, complete and submit the Presentation Proposal Form by April 30, 2016. Your proposal will be reviewed and you will be contacted by July 2016.  Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

There are seven educational tracks: Design (includes all design-related topics, urban and universal, interior design, landscaping, Master Architects Series, etc.); Tech (trades, BIM, codes, software, emerging technology, regulations, contracts, AIA Documents, etc); Historic (includes tax credits, research, restorations, rehabilitations for alternative uses, etc.), Business (includes all business topics); Green (includes sustainable design, materials, building practices, etc.); and  General (includes AIA Virginia organizational meetings, activities and events, tours, Keynote, etc.)

Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds and most engaging speakers to offer talks that are future-focused on a wide range of subjects – and to provoke important conversations.

Though Architecture Exchange East has a 28 year history, we’re completely re-imagining the user experience with a renewed and vigorous focus on curating exceptional, inspirational content. We hope you will consider being an integral part of this gathering of creative professionals.

ArchEx Announces Call for Presentations

ARCHEX-250The Society’s annual convention, Architecture Exchange East, is the mid-Atlantic’s premier educational event and expo for the design and construction industry.  Celebrating its 26th year, ArchEx  is now accepting proposals for presentations at the conference which will take place Nov. 6-8, 2013, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, in Richmond. Va.

ArchEx will offer more than 70 engaging seminars and workshops, allowing attendees to earn as many as 18 AIA/CES learning units . These sessions, along with tours, the ArchEx Exhibit Hall, and a keynote address, will inspire and challenge the audience of architects, engineers, contractors, interior designers, planners, industry leaders, and students.

Conference attendees tell us they want new and advanced content — the latest developments in the industry. Specific, focused seminars should be proposed, in one of these formats:

  • Three- or six-hour workshops, offered on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
  • 90-minute or three-hour seminar presentations to be offered on Thursday, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 8.
  • Tours (duration variable), to include projects in progress, recently completed projects, historical interest, etc.
