The Design Awards recognize excellence in design, while the Honor Awards acknowledge individual and group achievement in service, support, and practice, as well as design. The AIA Virginia Prize, a student competition, is awarded following a weekend charrette at the three Virginia architecture schools. The Prize for Design Research & Scholarship recognizes outstanding design research and/or scholarship in the field of architecture.
