As we look toward the future, we are seeking a successor to our longtime in-house architect—someone with a passion for design, a strong understanding of construction, and the vision to help lead our architectural design team for years to come.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Lead: Develop custom home designs in a variety of architectural styles, ensuring alignment with client goals, site conditions, and construction feasibility.
- Draft & Detail: Produce detailed architectural drawings, 3d renderings, and construction documents that balance aesthetics and buildability.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with clients, project managers, and trade partners to refine designs, solve challenges, and deliver exceptional homes.
- Prioritize Building Science: Incorporate energy-efficient, durable, and healthy building practices into every design.
- Contribute to Growth: Bring fresh ideas, refine processes, and help shape the future of Smith & Robertson as we continue to evolve and expand.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in custom residential design and construction is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and/or similar design software.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and local building codes.
- Fundamental knowledge of building science, including energy-efficient and high-performance home design.
- Proven ability to design in multiple architectural styles to meet client-specific goals.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A mindset of continuous improvement, teamwork, and innovation.
