Helene Combs Dreiling, FAIA, who announced her candidacy for First Vice-president/President-elect of the American Institute of Architects on Dec. 9, 2011, gave a speech at the AIA 2012 Grassroots Leadership and Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. The American Institute of Architects is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the membership. Elections for the Institute’s 2013 First Vice President/2014 President-elect, 2013-2014 Vice Presidents, and 2013-2014 Secretary will be held in May at the AIA 2012 National Convention and Expo in Washington, D.C.
