Professional Development Programming Transitions Online

Just because we can’t get together in person doesn’t mean that your professional development has to stop. We’ll be transitioning AIA Virginia’s educational programming online and offering members opportunities to earn HSW credits throughout the coming months. Watch your email and our calendar for announcements about new courses.

Most of our sessions will take place at noon on Wednesdays, but the schedule might vary from time-to-time, depending on instructor availability.

AIA Virginia, in collaboration with local chapters across Virginia and AIA West Virginia, will create a shared calendar of events on the Inform Magazine platform launching in late April. We’ll also work together to develop a repository of recorded courses that offer credit for those members who can’t participate in the live sessions.

Changes to Self-Reporting HSW Credits

Beginning in calendar year 2012, in order to align closer with state licensing boards’ practices,  members may no longer self-report HSW credit hours.  AIA Continuing Education System providers will need to report HSW courses in order for you to receive HSW credits. Members will not receive HSW credit for any courses included on a self-reporting form.

Members can continue to self-report credit hours for self-designed activities, structured self-reported courses, professional community service, and other courses not offered by approved AIA/CES providers.

For a refresher on self-reporting, visit the CES Self Report page.
