Richmond ACE Mentor Program

April 13, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Richmond ACE Mentor Program
A panel discussion with
Anca Lipan, Kelley White and Richmond ACE Participants

The ACE Mentor Program helps mentor high school students and inspires them to pursue careers in design and construction. It’s now the construction industry’s fastest-growing high school mentoring program, reaching over 8,000 students annually. ACE not only engages sponsors and volunteer mentors to expose students to real-world opportunities, it financially supports students’ continued success through scholarships and grants. By working with real professionals in real work environments, ACE students receive an invaluable hands-on education—they learn to understand the day-to-day workings of a business by living it, experiencing it, not merely reading about it.

Hear from two RWiD members who have channeled their professional expertise to help foster the next generation of ACE professionals, young women and men alike:

  • Anca Lipan, Associate at BCWH, with over 15 years of architectural design and project management experience specific to learning environments, who has been a mentor with the ACE Mentor Program in Richmond for 6 years.
  • Kelley White, Architectural Designer at BCWH, who serves as an ACE mentor while also contributing to the Storefront for Community Design mentor, GVGBC Connect the Dots Green Schools Challenge mentor, and as an instructor at VCU during the summer in the department of Graphic Design.
