
See a retrospective of some of the best of Virginia’s award-winning architecture, interior design and historic preservation projects from 2010. Design Awards 2010: A Retrospective of Winning Work is on display at the Virginia Center for Architecture on Jan. 6–March 13, 2011. The Opening Reception is Thursday, Jan. 6, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
The featured projects were selected from a pool of 164 submissions, each no older than five years, submitted to the Society’s annual Design Awards competition. The projects were reviewed by a blind jury from San Francisco, California. All entries were the work of licensed architects with an office in Virginia or members of the VSAIA.
Cost for admission to Design Awards 2010: A Retrospective of Winning Work is $2 with no charge for museum members, seniors, students and active military with ID. There is no charge for admission on Tuesdays. To RSVP for the opening reception, email aliguori@aiava.org
The Virginia Center for Architecture is located at 2501 Monument Avenue in Richmond, Virginia’s historic Fan District. It is housed in a 1919 27,000-square-foot landmark Tudor Revival mansion designed by John Russell Pope.
