While there is great respect for architects, there’s little understanding of what we do or how our work affects others. Architectural practice is constantly evolving. To move the profession forward, architects must work together to understand each other and communicate our value. Using findings from extensive research the AIA conducted about the general public’s perception of architects and architecture, this presentation will review proven messaging strategies, the importance of the words you use, and how to make your message resonate with legislators, your clients, and the public. It’s our job to help others understand what we do, and more importantly, why it’s important to them.
