Celebrating 20 years of NOMA’s Project Pipeline!

Our mission is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design. Using the city as the classroom and connecting students to real-world architects and planners, we foster the next generation of design professionals, civic leaders, and changemakers while advocating for increased inclusiveness, diversity, fellowship, equity, and excellence in design.

Local summer camps provide 6th–12th grade students of color with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of architecture, work closely with mentors, and create the designs they want to see in their communities. For many, Project Pipeline is their first introduction to the design world.

VANOMA currently operates in Richmond and Hampton Roads, with goals to expand to a third location in NOVA by 2028.
