Professional Bio

Quinton Mason is an award-winning designer whose work engages the intersection of community, identity, and spatial justice. He is the recipient of the AIA Virginia Richard L. Ford, Jr. Award, the Chapter’s highest honor for a young professional, recognizing his outstanding vision, passion, and excellence in the design community.
With over seven years of experience across multifamily housing, civic, and cultural projects, Quinton is committed to creating inclusive environments that foster connection and resilience. His recent research initiative, the Black Home Archive, is a visual and oral history project that documents Black domestic spaces to define a Black design vernacular and center marginalized voices in the architectural narrative.
An active advocate for equity and emerging professionals, Quinton serves on the AIA Virginia Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I.) Committee, the leadership team for Virginia NOMA, and the Young Architects Forum planning committee. His work blends storytelling, research, and design to challenge traditional architectural frameworks and uplift underrepresented communities. Through both practice and advocacy, Quinton brings a community-first, interdisciplinary lens to designing spaces that truly reflect and sustain the people they serve.
