We have been approached by the U.S. Commercial Service to offer the opportunity for participation in a Trade Mission to Guadalajara and Mexico City. Please see the message below, relative to this invitation to our members. Helene Combs Dreiling, FAIA, has been aware of several other Trade Missions to which AIA members were invited, and it was an extraordinary experience for all who participated.

Notice from the U.S. Commercial Service in San Antonio, Texas:

Our agency is the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce. I wanted to take a few moments and send you some information on a Sustainable Building & Construction Trade Mission to Mexico for veteran-owned businesses that our U.S. Commercial Service Vets Go Global team has organized for October 16 – 20, 2017. The trade mission will introduce participating U.S. companies to commercial opportunities in Mexico’s sustainable building & construction industry. While in Guadalajara and Mexico City, participating companies will meet with local industry contacts and solidify business strategies for these markets. Additionally, we’ll introduce your business to these cities and their expanding sustainable building and construction needs, organize business development meetings, and host networking events with government leaders, potential partners, distributors, and end users.

Some of the target products and sub-industries of focus that are in demand in Mexico and where veteran-owned businesses excel include:

  • HVACR
  • Lighting
  • Plumbing Products
  • Wood Products
  • Insulation
  • Windows & Doors
  • Thermal Resistance Elements
