The AIA Board of Directors took decisive action at their May meeting prior to Convention. Here are a few of their actions we thought you might be interested in:

Advocacy Event in Fall 2016
President Russell Davidson, FAIA, discussed planning for a post-election event this fall to promote the value of architects and architecture in communities. This event will specifically emphasize the need to spend money to improve “social infrastructure”; i.e. schools, libraries, justice facilities, parks, and other public buildings. The program will highlight the need, identify the benefits and provide data for use by components and firms.

Management Report
EVP/Chief Executive Officer Robert Ivy, FAIA, reported on the new AIA website, and on Architectural Adventures, the AIA’s new travel program offering.
