Good News! All 5 chapters and the state component received accreditation from AIA for satisfactorily delivering all Core Member Services in the areas of member and public communications, continuing education, advocacy, membership, finance, and governance. AIA Virginia, AIA Northern Virginia and AIA Richmond received 3-year accreditations and AIA Blue Ridge and AIA Hampton Roads, 1-year accreditations.

These accreditations are the result of over a year of collaboration and hard work among AIA Virginia and the 5 local chapters to discuss how we can more efficiently and effectively deliver top-notch member services and support. This process started with a facilitated meeting with Jay Younger with McKinley Advisors, June 9, 2015, at AIA in D.C. Phone and in-person meetings continued throughout the year and culminated in the signing of the Member Service Agreement in December 2015.

The Member Services Alignment discussions mean that your chapters and state component are working together to deliver all of your membership benefits regardless of your location or chapter activity level.

Our thanks to the team who has worked so hard to make both the Member Service Alignment and accreditation processes a reality!
