SUMMARY:Historic Tour: The Old Mill of Waterford
DESCRIPTION:Join the Historic Resources Committee for a tour of The Old Mill of Waterford! \nThe tour will explore the history of milling and its historic context in the National Historic landmark village of Waterford. The work began with a historic structure report in  2014 and continues to this day as an ongoing gradual restoration project. \nThe historic merchant mill was built in about 1830. It ceased operation in the late 1930s. Since the 1940s\, it has been the home of a longstanding annual craft fair and as a symbol of the village’s history and integrity. Constant inundation of the foundation by water from Catoctin Creek\, in addition to other structural issues\, had taken a toll on the building over many years. The recently completed project by Glavé & Holmes Architecture made the structural and architectural adaptations needed to return the building to a fully interpreted\, safe\, and engaging part of Waterford’s heritage. \nAIA Member: $15\nNon-Member: $30 \n2 AIA LU | HSW \nRegister Here>> \nRegistration deadline is Friday\, April 11 at 12:00 p.m.
