As society evolves\, so must our approach to design\, sustainability\, and the integration of diverse perspectives.  The ability of architects and architecture to adapt and innovate is more crucial than ever and this year’s conference promises valuable insights\, networking opportunities\, and collaborative discussions to improve the quality of the built environment. \nAIA Virginia’s annual Architecture Exchange East will take place at the Downtown Marriott in Richmond\, VA this November 6-8\, 2024! \nOnline Registration is now closed. You can register onsite starting November 6th at the Richmond Marriott. \nArchitecture Exchange East (ArchEx) is AIA Virginia’s annual signature educational event which brings together architects and designers to deliver a highly-curated program of educational sessions. The event features an exhibit hall showcasing the latest products and services from vendors\, suppliers\, and consultants. Attendees can earn all or most of the 18 required continuing education credits over the course of the two and a half day program. DESCRIPTION:In this three-part workshop\, sustainability experts will focus on the basics of what architects need to know to integrate successful energy modeling into their practices. They will also demonstrate multiple zone energy models for more advanced modeling. Participants will workshop the shoebox energy model and study how it can be an effective tool using a portfolio of industry standard software tools. This final presentation will tie together the tools needed for the integration of energy modeling in architectural practice. \nAfter this session participants will be able to: \n\n\n\nDiscuss the advantages of shoebox energy modeling for initial design planning.\nDescribe the differences between shoebox energy modeling and multiple zone energy models.\nList the alternatives for energy modeling.\nOptimize teamwork throughout the design process.
