SUMMARY:Project Delivery Symposium: Delivering the Future
DESCRIPTION:AIA National and the Project Delivery Knowledge Community present the Project Delivery Symposium: Delivering the Future. The symposium will concentrate on project delivery strategies and their critical place at the nexus of transformational forces. For the first time\, discussions of accountability\, trust and commitment are regularly heard in the studio and at the job site. This symposium will broaden the conversation among owners\, architects\, engineers\, constructors\, and all parties to the building industry. \nThe morning program includes: \nProject Delivery Strategies \nAs alternative delivery methods become more prevalent\, there are more options for owners in selecting the best project delivery strategy for the project. This session will focus on these options\, including CMat Risk\, Two-Step Design Build\, Progressive Design Build and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). \nOwners Panel: Public Sector \nIn the Public sector\, delivery strategies are often legacy driven or limited by procurement laws. In this session\, a panel of Federal Owners will discuss their approaches to project delivery strategy\, challenges they encounter and opportunities for success. \nRegister>>

SUMMARY:Design Forum XIII
DESCRIPTION:As boundaries blur between traditional art/architecture and mechanical assembly and reproduction\, it is essential that we stop to assess the way in which this changes the creative process\, the built environment\, and the profession altogether. This year’s Design Forum XIII: BLUR will explore the way in which technologies are reshaping the boundaries between experiential\, art and architecture\, creating new links between artists and architects and enabling the exchange of ideas and techniques in new ways.
