The house nestles into the wooded hillside adjacent to a stream and waterfall in Nelson County, Virginia. The owner's request for a cottage in the woods is realized in the flowing roof lines, local stone and stucco walls, and concrete roof tiles. The stone base grows out of the boulders on site, as the south elevation opens with an abundance of glass to bring the forest and the stream into the house.
